Can You Worship the God of Truth with Lies?

Greetings, everyone, welcome to Sabbath services! This is the Sabbath after the Feast of Tabernacles, and it's only two days, the second day, after The Last Great Day. So, here we are heading right into the world:
- the way that it is
- what's going on
- what's going to happen to the election
- what's going to happen to the war in the Middle East
News Item #1:
The Israelis are bombing military sites in Iran, so who knows where that will go. In the meantime, there are a lot of other things going on.
We have this here, a special on wars and rumors of wars that they could break out in many different places. As a matter of fact, the Jews are facing four fronts on which they are fighting.
How is it going to work? Well there has to be a temple built! If there's going to be a temple built, then there has to be at least some sort of peace in order to make it happen, because the Jews won't be able to build the temple if the Arabs are still fighting against them.
We find out that Christians are being slaughtered in Nigeria. Who's doing the slaughtering?
Countering the myth of religious indifference in Nigerian terror (10/2019—9/2023) Publication date: 29 August 2024
{https://orfa.africa/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/26082024-ORFA-4-YEARS-REPORT.pdf}
A comprehensive 136 page report published by the Observatory of Religious Freedoms—in Africa—found that the Muslims, same thing, the same enemy, and look how many we've imported into America.
The Muslim militants slaughtered 16,769 Christians in the last four years. That means that comes out to 4,192 Christians killed on an average per year, murdered for their faith, one every two hours.
So what's going to happen when it comes here? Because it will come!
News Item #2:
Three states are considering a vote on repealing marriage amendments. That is, they want to have same-sex marriages considered in a different category.
News Item #3:
Now, the Jews have reconstructed an Ark of the Covenant. That's what I said, that they will produce an Ark of the Covenant. Now they have it there.
To verify what I have said, that the Ark is in heaven, not on the earth:
Jeremiah 3:15: "'And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. And it will be when you have multiplied and increased in the land, in those days,' says the LORD, 'they shall say no more, "The Ark of the Covenant of the LORD!" Nor shall it come to mind; nor shall they remember it; nor shall they visit it; nor shall it be made anymore'" (vs 15-16).
Now then, that gives the appearance that there probably will not be a real Ark of the Covenant that you can say is the one that Moses had made when they set up the Tabernacle.
News Item #4:
The Culture of Moral Relativism Is Destroying Our Kids' Education
Star Parker | October 17, 2024
|{https://www.dailysignal.com/2024/10/17/why-our-free-country-do-we-lack-education-freedom/}
Destroying their minds! When you reject God and reject His Word, you reject what is the most necessary thing for you to have. That is your mind educated with:
- the Word of God
- the Truth of right and wrong
As God has said! Remember, there are two versions of right and wrong:
- Satan's version
- God's version
The God version tells us what it is. That's why I recommend to people who are new to the Bible to read and study through the book of Proverbs first, because that will give you a good grounding of:
- what is right/what is wrong
- what is good/what is evil
- how you need to conduct your life
They're also finding that all of this with all of the free sex is causing more women to be depressed than ever before.
News Item #5:
Now to show you something here, very important. I'll hold this up. You might be able to see the picture of it, I don't know. But here's a picture which says:
'Drag Me To Hell'—Welcome To The Latest Horror-Themed Drag Festival (for Halloween)
{https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=7448}
Now, remember on Church at Home—churchathome.org—I did several segments of Satan Comes Out of the Closet.
- What is it going to be like when he has full liberty?
- What is it going to be like when he is reigning on the earth supreme?
Well, here's what it is:
Drag Me to Hell," the horror-themed drag festival is being marketed as a "one-of-a-kind Halloween event for students.
Now, isn't it interesting that the very first day of world celebration is Halloween: Welcome to death!
Here in all in Hollister, I haven't seen it (in the past) set up the way that it is now. There are more things about Halloween and yard displays and things like this than I've ever seen.
They also say that the spending of dollars for things adults want to buy for Halloween is getting close to surpassing what money that they spend on Christmas.
But it's amazing that now Satan comes out of the closet. He begins to control more and more and more! Remember, Satan never comes to you saying, 'I am Satan, the devil,' unless you are fully devoted to him. Then he will! He will come as an angel of light and say, 'Oh, look at this. Isn't this interesting? Let's have some fun with the kiddies.' Halloween, Christmas and Easter; get all the kids involved.
They're indoctrinated before they even go to kindergarten! Like with Easter, I've said before, I'll say again, show me a rabbit that can lay boiled chicken eggs dyed and tattooed, then you can say you have something that is true, but you can't!
What do they have? They have a little bunny now that they show on television as an advertisement that he poopies little pieces of candy. Now, isn't that wonderful for our children to contemplate?
Think of how you felt when you believed there was a Santa Claus. Then you found out, like I did, that my mom and dad lied to me when I found the presents in the closet that I already asked Santa Claus at the department store to deliver.
My friends I would play with and so forth, said there's no Santa Claus. I was young enough and gullible enough at that time not to believe them. But when I found the presents, then I went to my mom and I said, 'Hey, there is no Santa Claus, right? I found the presents, right? Why did you lie to me?'
Because you see, the parents like to have the children tell the truth. And she told me, 'Well, that's a white lie.' That's a lie of light from Satan the devil!
So here it is at the University of Southern California.
"Drag Me to Hell is a one-of-a-kind Halloween event inspired by queer pioneers in 1930s-60s Los Angeles who found refuge in science-fiction fandom and the occult underground," the invitation continues.
So, it's come out of the closet and there we have it. There's quite a bit about this, and they raised over $50,000 for it. So, there are quite a lot of things going on in the world.
IF you're new to truthofGod.org and you are an evangelical, or you are a Baptist or whatever Protestant you are, or Catholic, THEN you ask your religious leader: Show me in the Bible where I should keep Christmas!
Well, I can show you in the Bible where it says not to cut out a tree, which then is a Christmas tree. Here is the Truth that you can never, never change. You can never worship the God of Truth with a lie! He will never accept it. Now, Satan's going to make it interesting. He's going to make it fun. But it is still sin.
Jeremiah 10:1: "Hear the Word, which the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel.
Note our book: America and Britain: Two Nations that Changed the World—Their Biblical origin and Their Prophetic Destiny. We'll send it to you, no cost! {truthofGod.org}
Remember:
- God says, 'I am God; I change not.'
- Jesus said, 'Man shall live by bread alone, but by every Word of God.'
- when Jesus said that (Matt. 4; Luke 4) there was no New Testament
- Did Jesus live by every Word of God? Yes!
- Did Jesus keep all of the (Feast) days of God? Yes!
- Did He keep the Sabbath of God? Yes!
As a matter of fact, He says He's Lord of the Sabbath!
"…O house of Israel" (v 1). That's us today:
- America
- Canada
- UK
- Northwestern Europe
- South Africa
- Australia
- New Zealand
We're all going through the same thing at the same time. We're going through it because of our sins!
Verse 2: "Thus says the LORD…" This is directly from God!
- Will you listen to God?
or
- Are you so steeped in a lie that you refuse to listen?
Now, remember this; one thing that's important:
People can believe a lie with the same mental resoluteness that they can believe the truth. So, you have to determine in your life what is what you are doing.
The Word of God is the Truth of God from the God of Truth to those who worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
Verse 2: "Thus says the LORD, 'Do not…"
What does that mean? Just what it says; don't do it!
"…'Do not learn the way of the heathen, and do not be terrified at the signs of the heavens; for the nations are terrified at them. For the customs of the people are vain…'" (vs 2-3).
- What is the custom?
- What is it on Halloween?
Recently in going to the store, they've had these great huge containers of pumpkins for Halloween. Now, I just noticed in the last couple days I've gone to the store that there are hardly any left. They sold all the pumpkins for Halloween.
- Is that a custom of the people?
- Is that a custom of the heathen?
Verse 3: "For the customs of the people are vain…" That includes Halloween and Christmas!
By the way, the Christmas tree, as I've mentioned before, is a celebration of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil of Satan the devil. All of the decorations on there are sex symbols, and what twines around in circles to the top with a star on the top, that's Satan!
So, you have right in your house, if you have a Christmas tree, an idol to Satan the devil! It's a celebration of lies. You told your children, Santa Claus is going to bring all of these.
- you can't make reindeer and a sled fly in the sky, that's a lie
- Santa Claus is a lie
- the gift you bought for your children and placed under the tree is a lie
- the tree is a lie
Same thing when you get to Easter. I remember as a kid, we would die those Easter eggs and we'd make them all beautiful. Then my mom would go out and hide them in the pasture close to where we lived, and then we would go out and find them. They are vain!
"…for one cuts a tree out of the forest with the axe, the work of the hands of the workman. They adorn it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and hammers, so that it will not move" (vs 3-4).
Is that not a perfect description of what we call today the Christmas tree? Yes, it is! Don't do it!
- Is there any way that God will accept pagan days, renamed 'Christian,' and that you're actually worshiping God?
or
- Is this another disguise by Satan the devil?
Now we'll look at Satan here in just a little bit!
Amos 5:18: "Woe to those desiring the Day of the LORD!
There are a lot of Protestants out there desiring the Day of the LORD today. IF you haven't forsaken these pagan traditions and practices, you're not on God's side!
Woe for you to desire because it's going to come on you as a disaster!
"…What is this for you? The Day of the LORD is darkness and not light; as if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him" (vs 18-19).
In other words, this is telling us when you get in and do these things of Satan the devil, and the lies of this world, there is no way you're going to make it right and there's no way you're going to escape it. Sooner or later it's coming!
Verse 20: "Shall not the Day of the LORD be darkness and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?"
- IF you think you love God
- IF you think you have a pleasant place in your heart
- for God
- IF you think that God is blessing you
You need to reconsider!
Remember this: Satan is called the god of this world.
- he can inspire people to do things
- he can bring benefits
So, don't look to those things as an affirmation that God is endorsing these pagan days!
Verse 21—God says: "I hate…"—first person!
- not love
- not accept
- not put up with
- not tolerate with
- Can you really worship God with lies?
- Can you worship Him with practices that He hates?
This is what we're looking at with
- Halloween
- Christmas
- New Year's
- Ash Wednesday
- Easter
Verse 21: "I hate, I despise…"—think on that!
- Would you do something that you hate and despise? Of course not!
- Will God accept you if you come to Him doing things that He hates and He despises?
Everyone, male and female, who believe that abortion is okay, you are doing what God hates! He will not accept it! Everyone who does it is going to pay a penalty. And this nation is a nation is going to pay a heavy penalty for 62-million murders, regardless of how you think you might justify it for whatever reason that you suppose.
"…I despiseyour feast days, and I will take no delight in your solemn assemblies" (v 21).
They're going to have Christmas Mass; they're going to have Christmas carols. 'Oh, it's so lovely.' Hasn't everyone been indoctrinated with them so much that they can sing all the Christmas carols by heart?
Does that not tell you where we are in this world and in this nation?
"…I will take no delight in your solemn assemblies. Though you offer Me burnt offerings…" (vs 21-22). That's the most expensive thing that you can give!
Remember what happened to the man who was dying of cancer and he thought that Kenneth Copeland, if he would anoint him, that he would be healed. He was one of the richest men in the world, and he bought a Benson for $250,000. He bought a special clock that went into the dashboard of the Benson for another $250,000. And he died!
So what did Copeland do instead of saying, 'no, no, no, you shouldn't give me that because I don't take any gifts this way.' He should have disposed of it right away. He shouldn't have accepted it. But what did he do? He said, 'Thank you, Jesus.'
How did Kenneth Copeland get to be worth $740-million of net assets? Preaching a false doctrine and making people believe in lies! That's where we are with it.
God says, "…'I will not accept them…'" (v 22).
If you had all the money in the world, but didn't repent, it's of no value!
Luke 18—let's see a good example of that in the New Testament. This is quite a thing when you understand it. And it backs up what we're talking about here back in Amos 5.
Luke 18:9: "And to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous…"
- Do you trust in what you do as righteous?
- Do you trust in the holidays of this world?
- Do you trust in Sunday?
- Do you trust the false doctrines that are spewed from the pulpit?
During the days of Jesus all of the scribes and Pharisees had their traditions that they kept. Jesus said, 'If you keep the traditions of the Jews…."
Today, that means any tradition of any religion! Be it Jewish, be it Protestant, be it Catholic, be it Muslim, be it Hindu, be it whatever.
"…who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others…" (v 9).
- What is the most despised day of the Catholics and the Protestants?
- The most despised day over which they killed tens of thousands with martyrdom?
- Is it not Sabbath that they despise?
Think about it!
Today they say, 'Oh, that's for the Jews.' Perfect excuse! But it's not true! Jesus said, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God that proceeds out of His mouth.'
What proceeded out of His mouth concerning the day to worship that's in the Ten Commandments? Most people read it this way: Forget the Sabbath Day!
But that's NOT what it says! It says: Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it Holy!
- Do you keep it Holy?
- Do you remember the Sabbath Day?
Think about what you do from Friday night sundown to Saturday night sundown. What is your activity that day? Because that's the Sabbath Day today!
- Do you go to church?
- Do you know if there's a church that even keeps a Sabbath where you live?
Satan has blotted out the knowledge of that so much!
You're surely not going to find it with the Jews in the synagogue, nor with the Messianic Jews. You might come halfway with it. Same way with other Sabbath-keeping groups. How far do they come in keeping the Word of God?
Remember, live by every Word of God! That means:
- how you conduct your life
- what you do
- what you live by
- how you express things
- what your emotions are
- what your mind is
every Word of God!
"…who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others, He also spoke this parable: 'Two men went up into the temple to pray…'" (vs 9-10).
Right there where it's supposed to be, where God should be, but when you come to the John 8, what do you find? The priests, the Levites, the leaders there believe the lies of Satan the devil, that their traditions were greater than the laws of God!
- What do you believe?
- What is it?
"…the one was a Pharisee…" (v 10).
- religious
- accepted
- everyone looked to
He got the praises in the marketplaces and he got the praises in the synagogues and the chief seats.
"…and the other a tax collector" (v 10). The lowest thing in the scale of status within the society!
Verse 11: "The Pharisee stood and prayed with himself in this manner: 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men…'"
Oh, God, look at all of those poor slobs out there, I'm righteous as can be.
"…—extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers—or even as this tax collector" (v 11).
Now, we're not to be extortioners; we're not to be unrighteous. But he was while he thought he was righteous! Notice, his religion was based upon himself, not God!
Verse 12: "I fast twice in the week… [Oh, what a righteous man that I am.] …and I give a tithe of everything that I gain"—down to the little seeds and everything!
Verse 13: "And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat himself on the chest, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner.'"
Now, the Greek is 'the sinner.' Now, why is that important? Because every human being who comes to God and wants their sins forgiven, they are forgiven through the mercy of God, the grace of God, through repentance.
And repentance means that you are required to confess your sins! You know your sins and your lusts and the things that you have done. You live with them in your mind and you have done them. IF you confess to God those sins, THEN here's what He says.
Verse 14: "I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled; and the one who humbles himself shall be exalted."
Now, let's come back here to Amos 5 again, and let's see what we have.
Amos 5:23: "Take the noise of your songs away from Me; for I will not hear the melody of your harps. But let judgment… [knowing correct right and wrong] …roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream" (vs 23-24).
What is righteousness? All the commandments of God are righteous (Psa. 119:172). All the commandments are righteous, NOT some of them! Now, in not understanding them you may disagree with them for the time being. But when you come to understand—
- the Laws of God
- the Truth of God
- the love of God
—you will see that all of His Laws are done in the right way for good purposes.
Verse 25: "Have you offered sacrifices and offerings to Me forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?"
You go back and read the journey of the children of Israel for 40 years. They sinned in the face of God!
Verse 26: "But now you have carried the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun, your images, the star of your gods, which you made for yourselves." You're going to go off into captivity!
Now, let's come to the New Testament again. Let's see something very interesting here. With all of that said, let's ask: How did Jesus say we were to worship Him today?
To worship and to live by every Word of God means that:
- there are actions that you take
- there are things that you do
- there are thoughts that you think
So, here is it at the well with the woman. Jesus was thirsty and He asked for her to get some water. So, she drew to the water. Then Jesus said to her: 'Go call your husband,' and found out that she had five husbands; the one she was with was not a not a husband.
John 4:19: "The woman said to Him, 'Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.'"
Now, notice what happens when you come up against a religious person. You try and connect to them in some way so that you will be accepted by them because you recognize what they're doing. That's what she was doing here.
She says, v 20: "Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, but you say that the place where it is obligatory to worship is in Jerusalem.' Jesus said to her, 'Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you shall neither in this mountain… [which was a false religion] …nor in Jerusalem… [because He's going to destroy the temple] …Worship the Father. You do not know what you worship…. [they didn't know they were worshiping Satan the devil] …We know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews" (vs 20-22)—if they repent and keep the Commandments of God!
Verse 23: "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers…"—who are those who have repented, been baptized, received the Holy Spirit of God!
Now, that's a whole process and dedication to God that is missing in all of the churches. There are a lot of them who have baptism ceremonies today, but it's no more than getting wet. Maybe they improve their lives a little bit, but unless they come to God and keep His Commandments the way that they should, the way that God says…
Verse 23: "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth…"—in spirit means:
- you're not self centered
- you repent and you have a humble spirit of your own
- you repent and are baptized and have the Spirit of God so you can worship Him in spirit directly to God the Father in heaven above
That's what it means to be under grace, that you have that direct connection to God in heaven above. Think about that!
- you don't have to go to a priest
- you don't have to go to a rabbi
- you don't have to go to an evangelist
You go right to God on your knees in your home in a private place and you pray to God!
- with a humble heart
- with an open mind
- with a yieldedness to do the will of God
"…shall worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth; for the Father is indeed seeking those who worship Him in this manner" (v 23).
As we read in the book of Revelation, there are seven spirits which are the eyes of God sent go and to and from the earth seeking out those who were seeking God. Then they will be that spirit will begin to deal with that person as long as they're trying to come to God.
Then when they reach a certain point, Christ will deal with them and lead them to repentance and baptism, which is the first step towards salvation.
Verse 24: "God is spirit… [that's what He's composed of] …and those who worship Him must… [it is obligatory] …worship in Spirit and in Truth."
So this is where we are today with it:Go online to churchathome.org and look up the segments that I did: Satan Comes Out of the Closet
Now we're looking at a situation here in America with a coming election that's coming up and it's going to be a decisive election, an historical election.
The question will be, will there be enough people who will forsake overt satanism and lies of the government that is coming out to select those who speak the truth and vote for them?
Because if you don't, and if the Democrats can steal it with all the illegal aliens voting, then you know that we are close to the total downfall of America, even as Donald Trump has said: IF we don't change at this election, this nation is over with as a nation.
IF you think that we have troubles now, the prophecy of the stranger rising up high above you will be fulfilled to the fullest extent beyond the wildest imaginations that you may have about that now.
Read Deut. 28, especially beginning in v 43; what God says is going to happen, and it is coming!
IF Trump happens to be elected, we may have a little space of time before that occurs, and that gives us—for all the Churches of God—a space of time to preach the Gospel and to preach the need for repentance like we're covering today.
(break@41:14)
Now, this will end up being a series of how many of messages I don't know, but I want to cover a good deal of the difficult Scriptures in the New Testament.
Now then, let me give you an example of how there is always faithful men who will stick to the Truth. In this case, what I'm going to show you, I never knew this man until some years ago, probably five or seven years ago. His name is Joseph Albert Ackermann, and he has worked on a comparison of New Testament translations. He has taken 26 New Testament translations and has gone over them verse by verse by verse by verse. That's been virtually his study for many, many, many years.
Then he presented it to us, and it was originally keyed to the King James because the King James did follow the Received Text. But as we know, there are many very bad translations of the King James, even though they followed the Received Text.
So, he is producing the New Testament Scriptural Comparison. Now we're working on finalizing this, and this will be his second or third rendition of it. He has it all charted out so that you can see with this, even though it's not very clear, he has each of the 26 translations listed out.
Mark:7:18-19
So let's take this Scripture that he has, Mark 7:19. Here's where every single one mistranslated it to make it mean something other than what the Truth is. And we will see what that is in just a minute.
Mark 7:18: "And He said to them, 'Are you likewise without understanding? Don't you perceive that anything that enters into a man from outside is not able to defile him?'"
Now that's talking about food. But it's not talking about unclean food. It's talking about regular food and clean meats that you eat. That does not affect the mind. Words and understanding and thinking affect the mind! That's what he's trying to point out here.
Verse 19: "For it does not enter into his heart, but into the belly…"
KJV says, "And goeth out into the draught."
What is the draught? That was the place where human waste went in the household when they didn't have flush toilets and they didn't have a path out to the toilet.
KJV: "…into the draught purging all meats."
Now, 24 or 25 of the translations say that it is "making all meats clean." Contrary to what the Bible says in Deut. 14 and Lev. 11:
- American Standard Version: "making all meats clean"
- Weymouth New Testament Version: "by these words, Jesus pronounced all kinds of food clean"
- Bible in Basic English: "making all foods clean"
- Revised Standard Version: "He declared all foods clean"
- New American Standard Version: "declared all foods clean"
- The Living Bible: "by saying this, He showed that every kind of food is kosher"
- Good News Translation: "Jesus declared that all foods are fit to be eaten."
- New International Version: "in this saying, Jesus declared all foods clean."
All the way down, saying all foods are clean, but Jesus never said that!
That's what you have when you get a translating committee. On the translating committee, you have Protestants, Jews, Catholics, and you have atheists. They all have input. And instead of using the Received Text, which is by far the majority text of all Greek text, they use the one that came out of Alexandria called The Alexandrian. That's the one that the Catholic Church uses, and that's what they use as the basis for making their translations. That's where they get off the beam with that.
Let's look at one more here: Mark 11:26. Let's see what they have done with this. In this case, every one of them has something different.
Mark 11:26: "For if you do not forgive, neither will your Father Who is in heaven forgive you your offenses."
- The King James: "But if you do not forgive neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses"
- New American Standard: eliminates that whole section of the verse
- Weymouth New Testament: eliminates it
- Bible In Basic English: eliminates it
- Revised Standard Version: eliminates it
- New American Standard: puts it in parentheses
- Living Bible: eliminates it
- Good News Translation: eliminates it
- New International Version: eliminates it
- New King James: keeps it
- New Revised Standard: eliminates it
- New Century Version: has it in parentheses
- Contemporary English Version: eliminates it
- God's Word Translation: eliminates it
- New Living Translation: eliminates it
All the way down the line! This is quite a thing! This is quite a thing that He has done. Now think of the tremendous work that Joseph Ackermann put into making this available.
We're going to have that available for you when we get a preface and an introduction to it. I want to mention this to help you understand these difficult Scriptures, because we're going to be entering into a time where we hope that new people are going to come.
It's going to be up to every one of us to know the Truth and for you to be able to answer questions about difficult Scriptures.
Now in The Holy Bible in Its Original Order, A Faithful Version 2nded. we have Appendix Z: Understanding Paul's Difficult Scriptures Concerning the Law and the Commandments of God Bible online at: afaithfulversion.org
If you have a lambskin Bible 1sted., we didn't have it in there. So, if you still have a lambskin Bible and you don't have the latest version write us and we'll send you the latest version which is the second edition, second printing. That has it all in there.
We also have a book: The Apostle Paul's Teaching On God's Laws {truthofGod.org}
Now this is very important. We're going to cover the difficult Scriptures that He has written and some of them are very difficult. But I want you to remember: 'Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.' That's the thing to remember to bring everyone down to where they need to be to start to understand these things.
Also, since we have quite a while till the Passover—but the Passover is the key thing that Satan wants to destroy—because the Passover is what puts you in right standing with God for :
- justification
- forgiveness of sin
- being able to grow in grace and knowledge
So, you need to have the book: The Christian Passover; that will explain it all. There are a lot of details in there you need to know, because Satan has brought in details, which if you don't know the truth about it, you could get tripped up or you may not be able to answer.
Then we have another book and it's our thickest book our biggest book our heaviest book, but you need it: God's Plan For Mankind Revealed by His Sabbath and Holy Days!
This one will be astounding because it is a transcript book with recorded sermons that we have for all of the days of worship:
- Sabbath
- Passover
- Unleavened Bread
- Pentecost
- Trumpets
- Atonement
- Tabernacles
- Last Great Day
Matthew 5:17
Here's another thing, because the first thing they say is:
- Christ did away with the Law
- Christ fulfilled the Law and His fulfilling did away with the Law
- the Sabbath for me is that Christ kept the Sabbath for me
We'll answer all of those questions. So here's the key, and what you will see is that Jesus, when He came, did not eliminate the Law!
You need to know this reference straight out, and you need to know the under the understanding and meaning of fulfilled when we get there.
We're going to start with basic and then we'll expand out to the difficult, and remember this: you first need to understand the simple clearly so you can understand the difficult later when you get to it!
Matthew 5:17: "Do not think…"—meaning don't let it enter into your mind!
All of the evangelical say that 'He did away with the Law, we're under grace. We can do anything we want to.'
As we read as we studied and as we showed in the first portion of today's message that you cannot worship the God of truth with lies anymore than you can take counterfeit money to the bank and have them put it into your account and counted as real money!
Sidebar: I remember one time a hundred dollar bill slipped through the bank. And the bank paid me when I cashed a check and then I found out that it was counterfeit and I went back to the bank for a replacement. They said, 'we can't replace it.'
Same way with the Word of God. If you do away with it you can't replace it with anything. The only thing you can do is wipe it out with the Truth.
Matthew 5:17: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill."
What does it mean to fulfill? It means to complete!
Let's see that Christ did not end the Law. This is important because it will help you understand.
Matthew 16:16-18
After Jesus asked them 'who do you think that I am'; Matthew 16:16: "Then Simon Peter answered and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' And Jesus answered and said to him, 'Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona, for flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but My Father, Who is in heaven'" (vs 16-17).
Now that thought suddenly came into Peter's mind. Did he know that it was the Father who put it there? No! So, God can put it into your mind whatever He wants to.
Satan likes to come and take it out of your mind!
Verse 18: "And I say also to you that you are Peter; but upon this Rock [Himself] I will build My Church…"
Now the Church is referred to also as The House of God. If you build something are you going to eliminate it?
Sidebar: My son Jonathan is one of the top architects in Hollister and in other towns nearby, as well. When he draws up the plans and gives them to the contractor to build a house he has to build a house according to the specifications of the plans.
Then they have periodic investigations (inspections) by the building commission of whatever city town or county that you're in. They have to approve of what is done up to that point as you progress to build a house.
Now when the house is built the contractor destroys it. Huh? No he doesn't! The house is sold and people move in and occupy it. They use it. They live there.
Now that's a good analogy to what Jesus means by fulfill—Greek: 'pleroo'—meaning to fill to the full!
- When He fills it to the full, does he destroy it?
- Is that a more complete version of the Law that needs to be kept.
What did we read in the first portion of the message today? You must worship God in Spirit and in Truth! Isn't that the way that God wants. Yes with the Spirit of God with the knowledge of His commandments.
Matthew 5:18-19
Matthew 5:18: "For truly I say to you, until the heaven and the earth shall pass away…"
You can also bring this up to whoever you're talking with. It's obvious that heaven and earth are still here. Now notice what Jesus says concerning the Law and the Prophets.
"…one jot or one tittle shall in no way pass from the Law until everything has been fulfilled" (v 18).
When is everything fulfilled? Not until Rev. 21 & 22! And then as spirit beings we will have an improved version of worshiping God—God the Father and Jesus Christ—because we will see Them.
Now notice what he says here about breaking Laws. Because grace—as we will discover in this series of studies that I'm going to do—does not give you license to sin!
When Paul asked the question: 'What shall we sin that grace may abound? He said, 'MAY IT NEVER BE.'
Verse 19: "Therefore, whoever shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven…
What does that say of all of those preachers who say the Law is done away? They'll be called the least! It doesn't say that they will be there.
Matthew 7:21-24
This helps answer the question: What's going to happen to those false teachers who come along preaching Christ?
Matthew 7:21: "Not everyone who says to Me… [anyone in the world; doesn't matter who you are] …'Lord, Lord' shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but the one who is doing the will… [practicing and living by the will]: …of My Father, Who is in heaven."
What did Jesus say of the words that He spoke? These were the words that the Father gave Him to speak! When you come to God:
- you're not dealing with the preacher
- you're not dealing with the priest
- you're not dealing with the rabbi or an imam
If you're in another religion you better get out! You go directly to the Father in heaven above! We'll expand on that in the future.
Verse 22: "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy through Your name?….'"
- that's a preacher
- that's a teacher
- that's a prophet
"…And did we not cast out demons through Your name?…" (vs 22).
Now you think if you cast out demons, 'Oh that's wonderful; I'm of the Lord.' NO! God probably did it because of the faith of the person who was possessed and God had mercy on that individual, not because of them!
"…And did we not perform many works of power through Your name?" (v 22).
- we build buildings
- we preach the gospel
- we had to go around the world
- we had millions of people following us
Is Jesus going to say that's good? No!
The one who does the will of the Father, like we find in Matt. 25. They will be told 'well done good and faithful servant enter into the joy of your Lord.'
But all these false ones: remember that Jesus prophesied that in the end-times many, many, many—the majority of them!
So, you go on you go on YouTube or Facebook or whatever platform that there is, whatever podcast whatever telecast whatever it is, IF they:
- preach a false grace
- preach a false Christ
- preach false salvation
they're not of God though they may sound wonderful though they may conduct themselves in a way that looks really great. Just remember this: All of that doesn't count because Satan
- appears as an angel of Light
- brings a different Christ
- brings a different way
- leads people into sin
Verse 23: "And then I will confess to them, 'I never knew you…. [Who are you?] …Depart from Me, you who work lawlessness.'" That's teaching against the Laws of God!
Verse 24: "Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and practices them, I will compare him to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock."
That's why I use the analogy of building a house and an architect and a contractor.
What we do in our lives is we build on the foundation of Christ and there's no other foundation that can be laid!
Today they're coming out with the one world-religion and the pope says 'all religions are a pathway to God.' That's not what the Bible said! So, the truth of the Babylonian mysteries is coming out in a way that we haven't seen before.
Matthew 5:19-20
Matthew 5:19—Jesus said: "Therefore, whoever shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whoever shall practice and teach them, this one shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. For I say to you, unless your righteousness…" (vs 19-20).
What is righteousness as stated in the commandments:
Psalm 119 172: "…all Your commandments are righteousness." Start with the Ten Commandments.
- Is it not righteous to have the true God? Yes, it is righteous!
- Is it not righteous to have no idols of any kind even in our mind? Yes, that's righteousness!
- Is it righteousness to use God's name in a proper way instead of in vain? Number 3 commandment? Yes!
Number 4 commandment:
- Is it righteous to keep the Sabbath and you keep it according to God's way in Spirit and in Truth and draw close to Him and study His Word? Yes that's what the Sabbath was for!
- Is it right that you honor your father and your mother? That's righteousness!
There's a blessing to father and mother and a blessing to the children, as well!
- Is it right when it says you shall not murder? Yes!
God requires the life of the murderer:
- Is that righteous? Yes because it gets rid of murderers from the society!
There are murderers in prison who say you better not let me out because if I get out I'm going to kill again!
Matthew 5:20: "For I say to you, unless your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees."
- IF you worship God in Spirit and in Truth, is that not greater than the righteousness and of the scribes and Pharisees?
We have the book Judaism: Revelation of Moses or Religion of Men? You will see that the problem in the New Testament is basically Judaism vs the Truth of God through Jesus Christ and the Apostles.
Most of the things that are written in the commentaries virtually ignore the problems that were there at hand in New Testament times concerning the traditional laws of the Jews and what they did. They said that all of these things these traditional laws are the Law of Moses, which was passed down mouth to mouth. But that's a lie! So, they take all of these manmade laws and encircle the Commandments of God.
That way they're rejecting as Jesus said in Mark 7 the Commandments of God to keep their tradition!
So your righteousness has to exceed what they are doing. If it doesn't:
"…there is no way that you shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven" (v 20).
Then He goes on explaining and magnifying the Law. That was the prophecy of what He was to do when He came.
With that said, let's come to Matt. 19, because here is quite a thing. They come here and say:
Oh look at what Jesus said. He didn't say anything about the Sabbath. Therefore, since He didn't say anything about the Sabbath we don't have to keep it.
Now if they say that, you remember:
Mark 2:27
Mark 2:27: "And He said to them, 'The Sabbath was made for man… [all human beings] …and not man for the Sabbath.'"
That means man has no jurisdiction over the Sabbath.
Verse 28: "Therefore, the Son of man… [Jesus Himself] …is Lord even of the Sabbath."
So, remember that He is Lord of the Sabbath Day, which tells you that Sunday can never be the Lord's day. Another thing that is true: No man no woman, no angel can tell God what to do and God must obey! Now that's what they do:
- with Sunday
- with Halloween
- with Christmas
- with Easter
They're coming to God to tell Him:
We're going to make these pagan days righteous because we declare them to be so even though You condemn them.
No man can tell God what to do! You could read all of Isa. 40 where it says:
- Who has been the counselor of God?
- Who has taught Him?
You can't do it!
Matthew 19:16-22
Here's one of the first places that they come to say 'Oh we don't have to keep the Sabbath because Jesus didn't mention it.'
Matthew 19:16: "Now at that time, one came to Him and said, 'Good Master… [a little sidling for a little favor here] …what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?' And He said to him, 'Why do you call Me good?…. [a lot of people can't understand this next statement]: …No one is good except one—God…." (vs 16-17).
Why did he say that? He had human nature within Him, He had to have human nature! So, even though He was God in the flesh He was not good as God is good and no human being can make himself good as God!
"…But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments" (v 17).
- Is there any restriction on that? No!
- Does that limit it to just the ones that are listed here? No it doesn't!
Verse 18: "Then he said to Him, 'Which?' And Jesus said, 'You shall not commit murder; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother; and, you shall love your neighbor as yourself'" (vs 18-19).
Aha! Look at 'love your neighbor as yourself.' Is that in the Ten Commandments? No! But it's the result of the Ten Commandments!
Verse 20: "The young man said to Him, 'I have kept all these things from my youth. What do I yet lack?'" Have you figured out what he yet lacks?
The answer to the Sabbath is this: In those days the Sabbath was the law of the land as well as the Law of God. He kept the Sabbath. So, I didn't have to mention it.
Verse 21: "Jesus said to him, 'If you desire to be perfect, go and sell your property, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come and follow Me.'"
Verse 22: "But after hearing this word, the young man went away grieving, because he had many possessions."
What were those? His idols! If they weren't his idols he would have given them up. That was his idol; not only possessing them but it was in his mind!
Matthew 22:34-40
This is also interesting here when you understand it. So, what you need to always keep in mind is this: Do not be trapped into a one verse corner! Realize that other verses in other places gives us the answer to it. This question would come up all the time by different ones. Well you're talking about eternal life. How do I enter into eternal life.
Matthew 22:34: "But after the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they came together before Him. And one of them, a doctor of the Law… [one who knew all the laws of God knew all the laws of Judaism came to Him] …questioned Him, tempting Him, and saying, 'Master, which commandment is the great commandment in the Law?'" (vs 34-36).
This will be very helpful to answer that question for anyone who brings it up.
Verse 37: "And Jesus said to him… [this is the greatest commandment of all]: …'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'" That means:
- with all of your emotion love and affection
- with all your soul you take care of your body because God will bless you with it
- with all your mind
Now when we get to the mind and the heart what do we find in Heb. 10:15-16. Where are the Laws and Commandments to be? In our heart and in our mind! There you go!
Verse 38: "This is the first and greatest commandment; and the second one is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself'" (vs 38-39).
Now listen carefully to v 40. This is very important because those who are of evangelicals or Protestantism or Catholicism never read this:
Verse 40: "On these two commandments hang ALL…"—not just some. You can't take nine commandments and say you do them.
And then remember the one in James 2 that IF you break one of the commandments you broken them all! Now that's another whole message in itself.
"…hang ALL the Law and the Prophets" (v 40). That's quite a one to understand!
Now let's answer: 'Under grace Jesus keeps the Sabbath for me.' That's one of the latest ones.
I don't have to keep the Sabbath. Jesus keeps it for me. We're under grace. Isn't that wonderful. I can do anything I want.
No you can't!
Matthew 11:28-30
Here's where they start out and misapply the Scriptures. Then we will look at a direct command, which says that there is for the people of God today Commandment-keeping.
Matthew 11:28: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are overly burdened, and I will give you rest."
They use this to say that they're 'resting on the Sabbath because Jesus rested for me.'
"…I will give you rest." The Greek here means to give you relief and it means to help you overcome the depression of all the turmoil in your life and upset emotions. You will have rest from that. Not that you're keeping the rest of the Sabbath.
Verse 29: "Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light'" (vs 29-30).
That's talking about recovery from sin that has nothing whatsoever to do with the rest that you receive by keeping the Sabbath.
Hebrews 4:1-11
This is very interesting indeed, because there are those who look at this and say the word rest here means entering into the 'promised land' or entering into the Kingdom of God. Now that is not true!
The rebellion in the wilderness was that the people didn't keep the Sabbath. They rebelled against God and everything.
Hebrews 4:1: "Therefore, we should fear, lest perhaps, a promise being open to enter into His rest, any of you might seem to come short."
You could say well that applies to the Millennium. That's possible but we'll say that's not the only interpretation.
Verse 2: "For truly, we have had the Gospel preached to us, even as they also did; but the preaching of the Word did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith in those who heard."
- What is the Gospel?
- the Gospel is the Kingdom of God
- the Gospel is the message from Christ
- What did Christ say about the Sabbath? He was Lord of the Sabbath!
- IF He came to abolish the law, which He didn't and we already covered
- IF He came to change it to Sunday THEN He would have made it clear
Just like He did with murder. You've heard it said of murder 'you shall not kill you'll be subject to the judgment. But I say to you don't hate him, because that's the first step toward murder.
Verse 3: "For we who have believed, we ourselves are entering into the rest…"—Greek: 'katapausis'
It's the same word used in Gen. 2 in the Septuagint 'katapausis'
"…'If they shall enter into My rest—' although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For He spoke in a certain place about the seventh day… [Hello! Not the first day!] …in this manner: 'And God rested on the seventh day from all His works'" (vs 3 4).
That rested is based on the word 'katapausis'; God rested and showed Adam and Eve and taught them this is the only day that you're going to keep, the Sabbath Day!
Verse 5: "And again concerning this, 'If they shall enter into My rest—" Showing this what are you going to do are you going to keep the Sabbath. Are you going to enter into his rest?
Verse 6: "Consequently, since it remains for some to enter into it, and those who had previously heard the Gospel did not enter in because of disobedience, again, He marks out a certain day, 'Today,' saying in David after so long a time (exactly as it has been quoted above), 'Today, if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts'" (vs 6-7).
Where did we start out? Man shall not live by bread alone but every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God shall he live!
Verse 8: "For if Joshua had given them rest… [which he didn't] …He would not have spoken long afterwards of another day."
Now listen carefully to v 9, because this is exactly what it means. He's saying that it's not the rest like Joshua would have given them going into the 'promised land.'
Verse 9: "There remains, therefore, Sabbath-keeping… ['sabbatismos' There is no other way to understand that] …for the people of God."
- Who are the people of God?
- The Jews? No!
- Any other country? No!
- Who are the people of God? Those who are baptized and received the Holy Spirit of God!
- Are they not the people of God? They're the only ones who are the people of God today!
Didn't we read that during the Millennium that with the Spirit of God that God will walk and move in us and be with us? We are as mini temples of God!
Verse 9: "There remains, therefore, Sabbath-keeping for the people of God. For the one who has entered into His rest… [who enters into the Sabbath Day] …he also has ceased from his works, just as God did from His own works" (vs 9-10)
Did God rest from His own works? Yes!
Verse 11: "We should be diligent, therefore, to enter into that rest… [which is the 7th day;-the Sabbath] … lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience."
Now that's quite a thing to understand. That's the strongest statement that you can have in the New Testament that the Sabbath Day is required; you must keep it!
The ones who keep the Sabbath receive the blessing of understanding the Word of God.
- that's why there's baptism
- that's why there's the receiving of the Holy Spirit
- that's why there's the Word of God
So, we can grow in grace and knowledge and qualify for the Kingdom of God!
So this helps you understand Jesus never kept the for anyone. When He kept the Sabbath, He kept it for Himself. When the apostles kept it, they kept it with Him.
On the Sabbath Day God sends His Spirit to be with His people so that they can learn, know, grow and understand His Word!
So we have many, many difficult Scriptures we're going to analyze and answer, because these will be coming up with new people coming in so we need to know them.
